Paradiso. (Br. Kevin.)

The Florida gator, or American alligator, is a crocodilian reptile that is native to the Southeastern United States and northeastern Mexico. The gator depicted here is male as is evidenced by the Capuchin Franciscan habit that he wears. Reminiscent of Friar Tuck in Disney's adaptation of Robin Hood, the Gator Friar also appears as a common critter with deep cultural associations. Though gators are not commonly considered woodland creatures like those featured in Disney's Robin Hood, they do enjoy a special cultural significance for Southeastern Americans in particular. Along with grizzly bears, wild turkey, cougars, bald eagles, buffalo, wolves, deer, moose, prairie dogs, skunks, armadillos, opossums, and the common peccary (or javelina), the American gator is an example of large North American fauna that's loaded with cultural cachet. 

More: A Florida gator is poised and ready with head erect and eyes looking forward. He is armed with all the natural gifts befitting a gator: green skin, stomach fluids strong enough to digest bone, and double eyelids for underwater lurking. Upon those natural gifts, supernatural graces operate. These graces accompany the gator friar's vows of voluntary poverty, chastity, and obedience. His brown habit, reminiscent of a potato sack, is a physical and cultural marker of the gator friar's voluntary Cross which is also his glory. God indeed has clothed the naked.

Notes
Technique (Hoodie): Sublimation dye printing process transfers the image onto the fabric before cutting and sewing into the garment.

This relaxed-fit hoodie with drop shoulders has a soft outside and brushed fleece inside. Though relaxed in fit, this hoodie is true-to-size rather than oversized.
