Thy Kingdom Come. (Denim jacket.)

The original design is from a poster issued on the occasion of a call to prayer put out by Bl. Pope Pius IX (Pope from 1846 - 1870). The original poster also includes the following inscription below the heart: Divine Heart of Jesus, inflame my heart with the divine love with which thou burnest.

This image is an adaptation of the original image as stencil graffiti in Philadelphia.

More: The Sacred Heart of Jesus is depicted as a container, or pouch, of burning love, shown as fire, with the cross being engulfed by the flame of love. A spear pierces the right side while a crown of thorns wraps around the upper portion of the heart. These are two instruments of torture, along with the cross itself engulfed in flames. Here, Jesus is in identity with his love, his heart, which receives whatever is inflicted upon it and consumes it with fiery compassion. The words "Thy Kingdom Come," are the opening words of the Lord's Prayer. The Kingdom of God is completed in and by the Heart of Jesus in the fire of Love.
