Through A Glass Darkly. (Sweatshirt.)

"Through a glass darkly," are Paul's words in his first letter to the Corinthians. The expression describes the experience of faith in this life. And yet, we call upon the Holy Spirit (a.k.a. the Creator Spirit), often depicted as light, to pierce the darkness of our minds and hearts so as to illumine our consciences. This illumination is a creative act properly understood as original and exclusive to God. It is also understood in conjunction with God’s creative act in Genesis: “Let there be light.” Through this light, we are to be re-created into his own image once again.

More: There is a brilliance to the full spectrum of refracted light upon its contact with the darkness of glass. The image in this design is entirely original. A physics-based computer light simulator was used to render an accurate representation of refracted light passing through multiple prismatic glass surfaces. The words of Veni Creator Spiritus (Come Creator Spirit) are written in both the original Latin as well as in English. The white font represents the purity of the Creator Spirit depicted as Light itself, made visible only upon contact with the darkness of glass.

Technique (Sweatshirt): Sublimation dye printing process that transfers the image onto the fabric before cutting and sewing into the garment.
